Code of Conduct & Class Etiquette

  1. Please remove your shoes, socks and all jewelry (earrings, watches, etc…) when you are on the training area. No exceptions.
  2. Spectators, please respect our goal to instill discipline and leadership in your child. Please turn off all devices including cell phones and as well as keeping any chatter to a minimum. If you have little ones with you, we ask you to attend to them or feel free to visit our shopping area in our complex. As a friendly reminder; please be respectful by not becoming a distraction. If you are too loud GMaster Hung might just put you to work!.
  3. Please help us keep all areas inside and around the school clean. No food is allowed inside the training area. Kindly note: the garden in front of the Academy is not a play area. Please be careful not to disturb any of the newly planted flowers.
  4. Proper Tiger Martial Arts uniform is required. Missing any component of the uniform (top, pant, or belt) or faded and dirty uniform is considered no uniform. You may be required to purchase these missing components.
  5. Upon entering the training area, students should show respect by personal preparation. Cease talking and try to quiet yourself both mentally and physically. Turn your thoughts towards your training. If you arrive early, you should start warming up, stretching, and practicing before class.
  6. Students, upon entering and leaving the training area in either uniform or street clothes, shall pause by the entrance, face the flags and bow to the flags. This show of reverence demonstrates respect and appreciation for our home country, our style, and our training, and the country that produced the development of our martial arts style.
  7. After bowing to the flags, students must recognize the instructor and senior members by bowing from the waist about 45 degrees. The instructor and senior members will bow in return if not otherwise occupied.
  8. In case of late entrance, the student should enter respectfully by bowing toward the flags and quietly standing at the edge of the training area in attention stance with one hand raised. Wait to be acknowledged by the instructor. Once recognized, bow to the instructor and request permission to join the class. After receiving permission, bow again, find a spot to warm-up with (10 jumping jacks and 10 push-ups), and walk behind other students to quietly take your place at the end of the line.
  9. At any time before, during, or after class, when an instructor or senior member offers personal correction or guidance, the junior student should, if possible, stand at attention while receiving the instruction. Upon completion, the junior must acknowledge the correction with a respectful bow and respond clearly, “Thank you, Sir” or “Thank you, Ma’am.”
  10. If a student needs to be excused from class (e.g., to use the restroom or due to illness), they should raise their hand to gain the instructor’s attention. Once acknowledged, the student will bow and request permission to be excused. After receiving permission, they will bow again and exit the training area. Upon returning, the student must follow the same protocol as for late entry: bow toward the flags, stand quietly at the edge of the training area with one hand raised, and wait to be recognized before rejoining the class.
